Endodontics

Sometimes teeth become infected through decay, cracking or trauma. At one time the only way to manage an infected tooth was to remove it – there was no other treatment available. Today, we are able to successfully treat infections inside teeth without having to remove the teeth themselves.

This treatment is known as endodontics or root canal therapy. It is complex, detailed work that may require four or five appointments to completely treat all the infection and seal the inside of the affected tooth to protect against future problems.

While some cases are so complex they require referral to a specialist, most of our patients are able to have their root canal therapy completed here at Ingle Farm Dental.

Root canal therapy is highly successful and the benefits often last a lifetime.
